Most job applications for a position will read the same. And why they should not? After all, learned how to write applications at school or from a book along with millions of other people.
In addition, everyone will have approximately the same level or skill as her. After all, if you do not have the ability or experience, they probably wouldn't be applying for the job! So saying you were a welder for 5 years means nothing compared to someone who has 10 years of experience.
So-here is how to take a common competence that almost all are listed in their applications and Polish it into a powerful reason for hiring me.
Consider for a moment, the phrase: "I am good with people". -Almost anyone to apply for a job that deals with customers plasters this phrase in their application. If you say this in your application then chances are strong that you become the person 134a in a row that is ' good people '.
Not very powerful is it? Instead, why not try something like this:
I have the skills necessary to keep your customers coming back week after week, year after year-and will be telling their friends about your business for the right reasons.
The truth is that you can say exactly that. Is exactly the same as saying "I am good with people". I simply stated much more powerful.
And here's the best part: every entrepreneur on the planet wants their customers to return to their business again and again and tell all their friends too. Should be much easier to get that interview, now, don't you think?
And if you're low on experience for a job?
Surely that cannot be transformed into a great reason to hire me? Sure you can. Proof: "I'm not stuck in my way of doing things, so it will cost you valuable time and money to redevelop me" and "train me to do things your way from the beginning." Get the idea?
To apply this concept, simply take every kind of experience you have and try to understand how you can use to make or save money for your potential employer (if not money, whatever it is that they want/need). Once outside, you're heading in the right direction.
In closing, remember to try to make it as easy as possible for employers to understand what you can do for them. This is 99% of the battle!
