ABOUT THE COMPANY
Argyle Diamonds is one of the world's largest diamond mines and has produced more than 760 million carats in over 25 years of production. The Argyle mine is the world's primary source of rare pink diamonds, its signature stone. Located 185 kilometres south of Kununurra, the Argyle operation presently comprises an open pit mine and processing facility. Following some bold and innovative thinking, coupled with Rio Tinto's confidence in the diamond market, Argyle will transition from the current open pit to an underground block cave operation. The underground mine is expected to be fully operational in 2013 and will extend the life of mine to at least 2019.
Argyle continues its significant commitment to the East Kimberley by helping to develop a sustainable future for the region that will endure well beyond the life of the mine.  Argyle is committed to the development of relationships with local communities in the East Kimberley and ensuring that the economic benefits of its operations in the region remain for the long-term.  Argyle has committed to a Participation Agreement with the region's Traditional Owners, which preserves Traditional Owners' rights and interests in relation to the mining lease area. 
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Technical Writer role forms a key part of the Engineering and Planning team and will provide the capability to support the operational needs of the Argyle Underground Operation. This will be provided through the design, development, drafting and publishing of a range of technically focused operational manuals, work procedures as well as diagrammatic and graphically represented information and data.
More specifically the responsibilities will include the following duties:
Research, analyse, and create technical documents
Design, develop and deliver technically oriented materials and documentation in support of mine operations.
Produce and deliver user and reference documentation.
Maintain and enhance documentation within the organisation's Document Control standards
Lead and participate in reviews of authored content, and respond in a timely manner with value adding amendments and recommendations for change
Review, edit, format and proof operational documentation prior to publishing and distribution to customers
Provide technical advice regarding presentation of documentation and other operational materials
Conduct research necessary to produce accurate, succinct and comprehensive documents.
This position is residential in beautiful Kununurra however FIFO from Perth will be considered.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role you will have a Certificate or Diploma in Technical Communication, Engineering and/or Business Admin. You will have experience working in a similar role and be able to demonstrate your understanding of policy and process dynamics in large organisations preferably within the mining industry.
