The hazardous materials information system at work is a Canadian information system thanks to the arrangements for the safe use of hazardous materials through unmarked, material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and employee training programs.
WHMIS was created through the coordination of the various federal and provincial authorities alongside organisations of industry and work to promote occupational safety and awareness for the Canadian work force. The hazardous products Act and the controlled products regulations are administered by the Department of health, also known as Health Canada Canadian.

A safety data sheet is a document containing information about a dangerous product used on a job site. This information includes but is not limited to, General safety procedures for handling emergency procedures and first aid to deal with the product in the event of an accident.
