• Solid local experience as a Structural Drafter/Bridge Drafter (approx. 3-6 years)
• A good understanding of steel and concrete documentation
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards

Kestrel Mine is an underground longwall operation located in Queensland's Bowen Basin region, 300km west of Rockhampton and 50kms Northeast of Emerald.  Kestrel has marketable reserves of over 100 million tonnes and produces up to 4 million saleable tonnes per annum.  The product is both high quality low-ash coking coal and high energy thermal coal.  A large regional town, with a population of nearly 15,000 people, Emerald has a wide range of sporting and recreation facilities as well as good quality schools and housing.
This is a rare opportunity to join our successful team as a Longwall Electrical Project Supervisor. Reporting to the Superintendent Longwall Equipment, you will manage the safe and efficient completion of longwall electrical overhauls, installations and take-off works.  As the supervisor of a team of contractors you will coordinate project activities and provide effective leadership.
Key responsibilities will include:
·         Leading and managing the overhaul of electrical longwall equipment
·         Ensuring that the longwall equipment is maintained and compliant with statutory legislation
·         Leading and managing your team to ensure that longwall electrical installation and longwall electrical take-off works are performed safely and efficiently
·         Assist in developing and implementing systems to work within operating and capital budgets
·         Assist in preparation of longwall electrical project budgets
·         Liaising with longwall production, maintenance and contractor work groups
·         Technical support as required for the longwall electrical operations
·         Attending OEM workshops to audit longwall electrical overhaul works for quality and compliance with work scopes
Working a Monday to Friday roster, there will be some travel required in this role.
To be successful in this position, you will have project management exposure coupled with considerable experience in longwall mining. Previous accountability with contractor management is preferred and an electrical trade qualification will be essential. Your flexibility and commitment to drive a project through to completion will ensure your success in this high profile role.
